So far, this year has been one of the toughest due to more challenging and advanced classes. Chemistry, for example is an extremely challenging course for me because physical science is not one of my strengths. Since I find this course challenging, it has been easy for me to fall behind. The fact that I was transferred to the class after the first MT doesn’t help; but I am working to not get so far behind and remain on task in class. As of right now, I am considered off pace; but I am challenging myself to study the criteria and get back on track.
Another difficult course is Algebra II. Math has also never been one of my strengths, and as I progress through the more advanced math courses I find myself avoiding the work. This has led me to fall behind in my math courses, which I am currently dreading; but it is no one's fault but my own, of course. As the end of the school year approaches I am finding it difficult to keep myself on track in this course. Currently, I am marked on pace in this course, which is an extreme relief for me. Since the last few grading periods I was not, I had to work hard on what I was behind in, and what we were studying at the time. Outside of school, I coach a U-8 soccer team with two of my closest friends. We have fourteen kids on our team, and it just so happens to be one of the biggest teams in our league. The team's color is red, and the kids decided that our name would be Hot Wheels. So far, we have played two games; the first we tied 2-2 and the second we won 2-0. At first, I was nervous to be coaching the team since I myself know nothing about soccer, but with the company and guidance of my two friends, you could say I am learning alongside our players. Another cool thing about being a junior is that I got my license in August! Becoming a licensed driver was a long process for me; it was like the DMV really disliked me, but really it was just difficult because I had moved from out of state. Last year, at the begging of the spring semester was my first time attending Lindsay Senior High. I moved back to California from Alaska, after three years. At first, I had a tough time adjusting, but after meeting the right people, I began to feel more comfortable. Once I was used to LHS and my group of friends, I began to become more involved in school activities. For example, I started to enjoy pep rallies and I also began attending games to support my friends and peers. As the end of the school year approaches, I'm becoming nervous for the start of senior year. Although I am greatly excited to become a senior and finally start a new chapter in my life, I'm still undecided on what to do after graduation.
