Hello, my name is Alexis and I am seventeen years old. I only have one sibling, and he is about as much to handle as if I had ten, but being the oldest, I want to give my little brother someone to look up to. I am currently a senior, and I have attended Lindsay High since my sophomore year and now I am finishing my last year of high school here, which is a little funny to me. Nonetheless, after I graduate I plan on attending Fresno State, because it is close to home, but mostly because it has one of the best nursing programs in California.
Growing up in the valley of California, it never occurred to me that I could ever leave my home. However, when I was twelve, my family moved to Dutch Harbor, Alaska. A big change for a little person! It was all pretty scary in the beginning, but when I started stepping out of my comfort zone I began to find that Alaska was so much different than California, and it was a good different. When I was fifteen, my families journey in Alaska had come to an end, and we returned home. I began to attend LHS and it was a big change from other schools I have attended, and that change has helped me grow academically. After graduation, I know many things are going to change once again, but I have learned to never resist change, for allowing change is one of the greatest lessons I have been taught in life. |
